Finally, it is our great pleasure to bring to the Council’s attention the introduction of the title of Professor Emeritus at the college. The title will be reserved for those who demonstrated outstanding commitment to the College community while here as teachers and in retirement continue to serve the College with distinction. The President and I hereby nominate Prof. Elham Sheiry as the inaugural recipient of this honour. Prof. Sheiry not only enjoyed a distinguished 20 year career at the College which included serving as the Head of the Mathematics Department but he has been an active volunteer since his retirement in 2005, tutoring students in all levels of Mathematics and offering the Further Mathematics as an activity to our strongest students. We cannot think of more deserving candidate" .
