The project week Basilicata group visited 6 schools to present the UWC scholarship program to Lucani students. In the afternoon the group joined social 
service activities of the Centro Scuole Volontariato Basilicata, including those of the local association for people with Down syndrome, and the “Free Smiling Angels”, a group of volunteers who work with kids in the outskirts of Potenza. The group had the opportunity to visit Matera, and on Thursday, 25th February the students organized a poetry-reading event to fundraise for the survivors of the recent earthquake in Haiti. The group fundraised 550 euros that will be sent to Haiti thanks to Doctors without Borders. 
The Lucani students responded with great enthusiasm to the presentations; we are all looking forward to their applications!!
