Defying the freezing cold and the exceptionally strong Bora, 20 UWC Adriatic alumni, some with their families,
joined us from as far away as Milan and Celje for an aperitif at the College on Friday 10 February.

Welcomed by Amb. Gianfranco Facco Bonetti (President), Mike Price (Acting Head), Valentina Bach (Director of Development), and a group of current students, our guests enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with each other and with the College.
During the evening, the President gave a brief review of the current financial situation of the College. Despite significant cuts in government spending, the College has managed to balance its budget for the last 3 years thanks to increased support from private donors. Mike Price spoke of the on-going student activities and the recent improvements to the facilities, especially the new Pala dayroom and the photovoltaic panels installed on two of our buildings. Then Valentina Bach (AD 89-91) updated the participants on current development strategies and campaigns and recognised the increased support
we are receiving from our alumni. The aperitif was enhanced with an excellent performance by the College’s jazz band in the Auditorium that rounded off the evening.
With a promise to meet again in the not-too-distant future, it was hoods up to face the journey back home. A warm thank you to all of you who made it!
