I take great pleasure in informing you that the Selection Committee instituted to select a new Rettore has successfully completed its work.
The international search, which started in September 2011, saw more than 60 candidates applying for the position. After examining a long list of candidates and interviewing in video-conference a short list of selected candidates, the international search culminated in an intense 3 days in Duino with the four final candidates. They met individually with teachers, students and administrative staff who provided useful feedback to the Committee.
The Committee unanimously recommended that Dr. Michael Price, current Acting Head, become the next Rettore of UWC Adriatic.
With a BSc and PhD in Zoology from the University of Leeds, Mike began his career teaching Biology in various schools in England before becoming Head of Science at the British International School in Jakarta. He has since worked in Buenos Aires and at the UWC of South East Asia where he was Principal of the High School and Deputy Head of College.
During the series of interviews and presentations that each candidate made, Mike scored very highly in all of the key areas of educational leadership, human leadership, technical/ managerial leadership, cultural leadership and symbolic leadership.
All members of the College community are looking forward to working with Mike to ensure a successful future for our College and the mission it works to promote.
