Counselour:
UWC Adriatic is a two year residential school for around 190 students aged 16-19, from over 85 countries. All students are specially selected for a scholarship either from the college or their National Committee.UWC Adriatic was founded in 1982 by the region of Fruili Venezia Giulia with the support of the Italian government. The fifth United World College and the first outside an English-speaking country, it is 20km from Trieste in north-eastern Italy.
The College is integrated into the Italian/Slovene village of Duino/Devin. All students at the College study Italian and our school buildings and residences are spread throughout the village. Our social service programme seeks to further involve us with this community.
All students prepare for the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma. The College especially emphasizes a co-curricular programme that includes weekly community service, action and creativity. All are essential elements in realizing the UWC mission to make education a force for uniting people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.
All teachers at the UWC Adriatic:

All full-time teachers are required to live in the village of Duino in housing provided by the College. Many also take on the additional responsibility of supervising a residence as a Residence Tutor.
