What is life like being a UWC student? Intense, exciting but moreover full of unique experiences.The atmosphere at a UWC is the one of a community where everyone is equal; no matter where you come from or who you are. At UWC everyone is encouraged to discover themselves and focus on what they are most passionate about.
The wide variety of subjects that are offered and the numerous extracurricular activities make it possible for 
students to find what their interests are, or even try new, exciting adventures that they have never done before. Joining your physical, creative, social or College activities will give you the chance to not only develop skills, talents and hard-work ethics, but also the chance to have fun and enjoy every single minute of socializing with people and meeting new ones. The idea is for each student to meet, teach, and learn from as many individuals as possible.
It is indescribable how much a student learns, not only from teachers during regular classes but from friends a
nd classmates who all have unique personalities and experiences. UWC believes that everyone here is special and deserves to be treated as such; students are special because they come from all over the world.
UWC of the Adriatic students share a rather important characteristic in their College life; they not only meet, talk and work with their schoolmates with whom they share things in common, but, because our College does not have a closed campus and our buildings are spread across Duino, we also get to know and 
have contact with local villagers. It is interesting to see the mutual respect and friendly behavior both UWCAd students and local Duinese people share for each other.
All students attend regular classes, as part of the IB programme, in the mornings, followed by activities running throughout the afternoon. There are usually lots of engaging activities going on, such as National Weeks, Peace Marches, Open- Mike nights, and Shows. None of them are compulsory, but everyone at the College shows lots of interest and participation. There are various spontaneous or organized activities during the evenings.
