Peace One Day & UWC Day

On September 21st UWC Adriatic students traditionally perform their multicultural show in a public square

The multicultural show “Peace One Day” is UWC Adriatic’s special way of honouring UWC Day and the International Day of Peace on September 21st. Having arrived in Duino at the end of August, first year students make the most of little more than two weeks of rehearsals to learn the coreographies from second years. Traditional national costumes and the flags of over 80 countries do the rest to make sure the students message of peace does not escape anyone’s notice.

After years of performing in a central square in Trieste, for the past two years the Peace One Day Show has moved to the main square in Udine – the second largest city in the region Friuli Venezia Giulia (60 km away from Duino, home to UWC Adriatic). The show is always performed in the streets so that the greatest possible number of people can come across this lively group of youngsters from all over the world and get to know about the UWC mission and values.
