Davis UWC Impact Challenge Outcome

UWC Adriatic is proud to share the news of the College’s performance in response to the Davis-UWC IMPACT Challenge

​– ​Why – UWC alumni have increasingly been supporting their UWC colleges, showing that they value their scholarship-based experience and want to contribute to providing the same opportunities to others.

​– ​How – UWC’s biggest supporters, Shelby and Gale Davis, have observed this trend over the years and in 2015 decided  to reward and further encourage alumni generosity by offering 15 million USD in matching funding to be divided equally among all of the 15 colleges provided they increase their total number of donors. Upon reaching this target all eligible gifts received by the College during the challenge period (August 1 2015 – July 31 2016) would be matched.

​– ​What – UWC Adriatic has succeeded in unlocking the full 1 million USD in matching funding in the first year of the challenge and in doing so –
–        has increased the number of donors by 61% (from 264 to 426)
–        has increased donations from approximately 290,000 to 829,000 euro
–        has raised 227,000 euro from new donors

– ​Who – We owe this achievement to the 191 small donors (donating less than 100 euro) who helped the College increasing the total number of donors as well as to all the alumni, parents and friends of the College who gave so meaningfully: thank you for stepping up to this challenge for your College!
– ​What’s next – The best way to express our gratitude to Shelby and Gale Davis for their generous support is to show that the College’s commitment to increasing its fundraising capacity stands firm and, consequently, that the sustainability of the College’s scholarship offer is guaranteed. Let’s continue to walk side by side and keep up – and even step up – the number of UWC Adriatic donors.
