On January 24th, the Humanitarian Aid social service group visited the Fondazione Luchetta Ota D’Angelo Hrovatin in Trieste. This organization helps children who have been wounded in the course of a war or who suffer from diseases which are not treatable in their home countries. Many kids come from countries such as Morocco, Nigeria, Palestine, Pakistan, Kosovo, Macedonia and Venezuela.
The visit started with an introduction from the supervisor of the organization who illistrates the services that Fondazione Luchetta provides as well as its history, accomplishments and mission. “During our visit”, says second-year student Jona, “we had the opportunity to meet and talk to some people hosted in this NGO. They told us about their experience regarding how they left their countries, how they found out about Fondazione Luchetta and how much it has helped and supported them ever since.”
“Furthermore”, added first-year student Maria, “we had the chance to meet and share stories with many children. We had a lot of fun while participating in different activities with them and they seem to have enjoyed it very much as well. We are looking forward to our next visits to other humanitarian associated organizations where we will be able to help those who are in need.”
