Spring festival in Duino

Last event from the spring festival “Racconti in musica” (Tales put to music) at UWCAD

The last of the four events organised within the spring festival “Racconti in musica” is taking place at UWC Adriatic’s Auditorium on Sunday, 23rd April. On this day, the audience will get the chance to explore the history of a very particular instrument, the saxophone.

Starting from 11 a.m., the J. Tomadini Conservatory Saxophone Orchestra (Udine), directed by prof. Fabrizio Paoletti, will perform at the College Auditorium. The ensemble will engage in a musical itinerary called “The saxophone, a classical instrument”, with a programme including pieces by Bach, Bizet, Handel and Rossini. The Saxophone Orchestra consists of current and former students of the Conservatory in Udine, and proposes captivating sonorities and timbres. The audience will be guided into exploring classical music through an instrument that is considered as modern.

This event will bring back a successful format, the one of Family concerts. Children are indeed invited to participate, too. Starting from 10.30, they will “meet” the musicians and their instruments, while from 11 children aged 6-8 will take part in a musical activity based on body percussion with some of the College students, supervised by music teacher Andrea D’Incà.
