UWC Adriatic students doing the Humanitarian Aid social service will hold a collection of blankets for homeless shelters on Friday, November 3rd from 2.30 to 4.30 pm. Anyone wishing to contribute can bring their blankets to the academic building.
Last year the College’s volunteering association Mondo 2000 was invited to join the Municipality of Trieste’s commitee dealing with the repercussions of cold weather on homeless people. The committee supports a Help Centre based in Trieste’s train station. The onset of cold weather inevitably entails the need for more blankets and the College students Piotr (Poland), Sarune (Lithuania), Hannan (Syria), Cara (China), Peter (South Sudan) and Song (Malaysia) have responded by dedicating their social service activity to showing solidarity by pursuing this goal.
Blankets alone are being collected at this stage and they will be distributed by our students in Trieste. Please join us in this cause: see you on Friday November 3rd!
