Concert by Zadeno Trio

Zadeno Trio, an extremely original band with great creativity, lyric force and instrumental skills – definitely out of the norm!

ICMA is pleased to host the famous Zadeno Trio within its Sunday Concerts programme, on Sunday 3 December 2017 at 11 am.

The Trio was born in the summer of 2014 at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, in the Netherlands. Formed entirely by Italian musicians, Zadeno Trio, under the guidance of the young and talented Neapolitan saxophone player Claudio Jr De Rosa, wishes to explore the language of jazz from its traditions to the present. The interplay between Alessio Bruno on double bass and Jacopo Zanette on the drums enriches and completes the arrangements and compositions by De Rosa. The music played by this trio is inspired by world famous artists such as Joe Henderson, Sonny Rollins, Mark Turner and Chris Potter, with the aim of creating an intense and peculiar sound.

With  members coming from different professional backgrounds, the band has received appreciation and recognition both in Italy and abroad. Starting from the summer of 2014, the Trio has performed at important music festivals such as Fara Sabina Jazz Festival, Jazz By The Pool, Leiden Summer Jazz Festival, Bucharest Jazz Festival, Urbino Plays Jazz, Sorrento Jazz. Zadeno Trio has won several prizes and competitions, starting with the Terme Preistoriche Prize in September 2014, and then winning the Fara Sabina Jazz Live, the Barga Jazz Contest, the Leiden Jazz Award, with De Rosa receiving the Best New Talent Award at Tuscia In Jazz 2015. Holes in the Ground, Zadeno Trio’s debut album recorded with Emme Record Label, was released in February 2016, and it was described as “interesting, ambitious and enjoyable” by jazz critic Bruno Pollacci.
