Premio Minerva

UWC Adriatic President, Ambassador Cristina Ravaglia receives the Premio Minerva award in Rome

Named after the Roman goddess of wisdom, strategic warfare and the sponsor of the arts, the award Premio Minerva has now reached its 29th edition. Italian and foreign women alike are singled out each year in acknowledgement of their expertise and achievements in fields as diverse as gender equality, entrepreneurship, human rights, science, arts and social endeavours.

Six prizes were awarded on Wednesday November 28 in the Sala della Promoteca in the Municipality of Rome. The award consists in a broach with head of the Goddess Minerva, as drawn in 1983 by the twentieth century painter Renato Guttuso, a staunch anti-Fascist, best known for his Sicilian landscapes and social commentary.
