Your gift will help the college face the COVID-19 extra expenditures for the 2020-21 academic year
Following the management of the COVID-19 outbreak, during which UWC Adriatic provided organisational, logistical and financial support for a third of its students staying with host families in Europe, the college has developed a strategy and a protocol for operating the college in the 2020-21 academic year. It establishes the safety measures to be followed in compliance with WHO health regulations and Italian national and regional recommendations for containing and managing the SARS-CoV-2 epidemiological emergency across the different stages of the pandemic. The UWC ethos has been at the heart of our decision-making process.
While the safety of our students and staff is paramount, it remains our utmost priority to provide a fulfilling and wide-ranging UWC education for all our students. We are fully determined to preserve the essential UWC character of the student experience as much as possible in the circumstances. The term “physical distancing” will therefore be used instead of the widely used term “social distancing”. Lessons, activities and working together will remain at the core of what we do.
The following table is a breakdown of the estimated 90,000€ required to ensure all students can be safety quarantined upon arrival to the college and that we can continue to offer them a UWC experience, whilst abiding by the necessary health guidelines.
