Azeez is proud to share with you two videos about his successful social work in Iraq
This year during winter break most college students did not return home owing to the current restrictions on travel. Azeez, a second-year from Sinjar – in northwest Iraq, close to the border with Syria – was an exception. He had quite a bit of unfinished business to take care of among his people – the Êzidi minority in Iraq.
Over the summer, with two co-years of his from Canada and other peers, he had started a fundraiser in order to contribute to fighting hunger among his people. At the same time, he also started to think about how he could make the Ezidi community more aware of the importance of recycling waste and, generally, of how much healthier and prettier a community is when waste is collected and organized properly. Watch the videos below to see his progress!
Thanks to many alumni and friends of the College we have raised 23.000 euro for Azeez’s first year in Duino.
With your help we can cover the costs for the scholarship for his second and final year in Duino. These costs have increased by 1,000 euro per student owing to the pandemic.
