The UWC Adriatic Garden of the Righteous

Duino too participated this year in the celebrations for the European Day of the Righteous

Remembering individuals who have made a difference by being courageous and compassionate is the mission of the Gardens of the Righteous that started thanks to the initiative of Gabriele Nissim and his association GARIWO – Gardens of the Righteous Worldwide.

These gardens – there are more than 100 of them in Italy and around the world – are like open books eager to share their stories: as you walk around them you can be inspired by the many names of the righteous – people whose concrete actions testify to their selflessness and their resolve to defend human values from unjust laws, indifference and oppression.

The UWC Adriatic Garden of the Righteous started on the initiative of a group of students in the academic year 2019/20. This year it became one of the activities offered to our students for the community service component of their CAS activities. This new group joined forces with the two alumnae that started the project in this video to celebrate the Day of the Righteous established on March 6th.
