On Wednesday 21 July, the awarding ceremony of the project “I shall become” was held in Milan, on the initiative of the Bracco Foundation aimed at supporting deserving youth in their academic or professional career. Among them Federica Jin Zhou, a student of Chinese origin from the province of Venice, who will attend UWC Adriatic in 2021/2023 thanks to support from the Bracco Foundation.
Investing in culture and science, especially youth – particularly with regard to female students – both in Italy and at an international level is part of the Foundation’s mission. These very values were celebrated during the event by taking participants on a guided tour of the Royal Palace and the exhibition “The Ladies of Art. Stories of women between the 1500s and 1600s”, supported by the Bracco Foundation.
“The ceremony made for a special event”, says Federica. “During the evening, in addition to having the opportunity to meet my donor – thanks to whom I will be able to attend a United World College – I officially became part of the Diventerò community, thus having the privilege of meeting several ambitious youth from all over Italy”.
“I really appreciate the Bracco Foundation for having once again supported the ability, competence, ambition and creativity of women with the innovative exhibition “The Ladies of Art. Stories of women between the 1500s and 1600s”. I sincerely hope that, in the not too distant future, powerful and successful women will be seen much more often alongside equally important men” said Federica Jin Zhou in speaking about the awarding ceremony.
Federica was delighted with the opportunity to meet and thank the Bracco Foundation whe she met Secretary General, Gaela Bernini. She is now bracing herself for a completely different adventure, as she gets ready to join UWC Adriatic in September.
