Our latest Social Report

“If this isn’t nice, what is?” – read our latest Social Report and discover impact results of the College’s activity

“If this isn’t nice, what is?” reads the title of a book by Kurt Vonnegut. But one could also say it sets the tone for this year’s edition of the College’s the Social Report. In glancing through this document – a summary of the social, economic and impact results of the College’s activity in the 2020-2021 academic year –  we stop for a moment and realise what we have accomplished. Something quite extraordinary, which deserves to be acknowledged, indulging in a feel-good moment.

We can, indeed, feel both good and grateful for the teamwork behind this effort, which the President Cristina Ravaglia does not hesitate to define as outstanding, and which required the cooperation of all of the staff at the College – starting from the nursing staff members, to the faculty, administration and our wonderful Mensa Ladies.

Feel good and grateful, because, as Rettore William Turner states, this great collaborative effort enabled us to offer our students an in-person education throughout the year, with only eight days of online learning: quite a feat when one considers the situation in the rest of Italy and in many parts of the world. To the great benefit of the students at our College, who were able to carry on with their UWC experience, albeit with some inevitable restrictions. They too deserve much credit for having made last year a positive although tough year, demonstrating commitment to their academic endeavours and resilience in the face of challenge.

The latest edition in both English and Italian is available here.
