THE RENOVATION OF FORE COURTYARD

Thanks to Darren Huston (UWCAD 1983-85) it is now an area for student performances, socialising and outdoor lessons

The heart of the College was long in need of some care and renovation. Thanks to the generosity of alum, Darren Huston (UWCAD 1983-85) Fore courtyard has been spectacularly renovated this summer. What was once essentially a car park has now been transformed into an area for student performances, socialising and outdoor lessons.

The resurfaced courtyard compliments the iconic yellow of Foresteria. The smooth surface is no longer pothole and puddle ridden. Now versatile, this space is bright and welcoming.

The beautiful new garden, with a variety of plants, provides some shade and quiet sanctuary. The historic Well has been maintained and we hope to soon place commemorative stones around the garden to recognise the friends, donors and alumni of the College.

We are so grateful to Darren, our architect, Maria Pinat and contractors who transformed this space. This project has had a huge impact on the aesthetic of this long overlooked area of the College and has already improved student life dramatically.
