Faith Abiodun’s first official visit to UWC Adriatic

25 November 2022
UWC International Office’s Executive Director, Faith Abiodun, visited us in Duino on November 24-26

At the end of November 2022 at UWC Adriatic we were thrilled to have Faith Abiodun among us in Duino for his first official visit to our College, where he participated in our Steering Committee meeting and anniversary celebrations in Trieste.

The highlight of his visit was the fascinating and inspiring talk “Guided by Questions” he delivered to our community when Faith drove home the point that we often learn the most when we ask ourselves challenging questions even if we don’t find the answers, provided we never stop exploring and experimenting with ideas and aim at excellence.

Our first-year student Snežana, from Serbia, commented after the talk

“
I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to hear the amazing speech by UWC International Executive Director Faith Abiodun. Many inspiring stories from that day are deeply etched in my memory, but one phrase still rings in my ears: “Questions, not answers, create knowledge.”
Listening to his journey from exploring to experimenting to excelling, and hearing out about his experiences and interesting career path and life was very inspiring. I feel like some of my thoughts have blossomed from the back of my mind into real fireworks of ideas. This authentic speech inspired me to try out, risk, achieve more and dare to do great things. It was an incredible honor and an unforgettable experience! UWC Adriatic students look forward to welcoming Faith back to Duino in the future.
