On Thursday, 26 January, the first concert in 2023 was held in the College Auditorium, where students and faculty performed a variety of pieces, from baroque to gospel.
Highlights included a ballet version of Saint-Saens’ famous ‘The Swan’, Liszt’s ‘Liebestraum’, the theme from the film ‘Schindler’s list’, a poignant performance of Handel’s hit ‘Lascia ch’io pianga’, Vivaldi’s ‘Winter’ and a wonderful arrangement of Brubeck’s ‘Take Five’ for voice, guitars, bass and drums.
Twenty students were involved in the performance and the audience – which included people from the local area – were very appreciative and supportive. Many thanks to all who joined us!
