Two students to attend UWC Adriatic while four will study abroad with Intercultura
The awarding ceremony for six new scholarships offered by Fondazione Caritro took place on June 7 2023. Fatima and Alice, students from the province of Trento admitted to UWC Adriatic, received their full scholarship alongside four other high school students who will spend their second-to-last year abroad thanks to the organisation Intercultura and support from Fondazione Caritro.
The event took place at Palazzo Calepini – where the foundation is based – before an audience of local high school students who may want to access these opportunities in the future.
The recipients of these scholarships had the opportunity to thank the foundation, represented by Vice President Patrizia Galvagni and meet the regional Education Superintendent, Viviana Sbardella. Ms. Galvagni explained that for the past 25 years Fondazione Caritro has been supporting such scholarships to enable local students to access international study opportunities, explore new cultures and make new friends.
Fatima and Alice are among the ten youth from the province of Trento admitted to UWC Adriatic since 2017 thanks to scholarships offered by Fondazione Caritro. Fatima has attended her first year at Adriatic this year, while Alice will be starting her UWC experienc in Duino in little more than two month’s time.
Among the speakers at the event, Federica Rottardis – from the Trentino Alto Adige regional selection committee – made a presentation about the new UWC Italia selections for 2024-2026. The deadline for submitting one’s application is 1 November 2023
