At UWC Adriatic being part of a community is a core aspect of our students’ educational experience. This translates into a collective and individual commitment to the personal development of each student.
The UWC values and community spirit are what brought to Duino Fatima Dafir (UWCAD 22-24), a student from the Autonomous Province of Trento, currently in her second and final year. Fatima’s application was successful and she was selected by the Italian National Committee for the academic years 2022-24.
Multiple benefactors in the Autonomous Province of Trento contributed to her scholarship — with the CARITRO Foundation acting as her primary supporter. Since 2017, the Foundation has annually funded a scholarship for a student from the Trentino region. Hence in the academic year Fatima was selected, they decided to support her academic journey as well by providing additional resources for a second partial scholarship covering her first academic year at our College.
In addition to the CARITRO Foundation, entrepreneur Marcello Lunelli, the Marchionni & Associati Law Firm and ITAS Mutua – ITAS Assicurazioni Group joined in with their generous donations. Their contributions helped cover the costs for Fatima’s second academic year at UWC Adriatic.
This achievement was made possible thanks to the endeavours of the School Superintendent of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Viviana Sbardella, who supported Fatima from the outset in the firm belief that a collective commitment to provide resources of this kind is an investment in the future, not only for Fatima but for the entire Trentino region.
Finally, a significant contribution also came from donors and friends of the College who, through donations to the Italian Campaign, contributed to completing Fatima’s scholarship.
