Project Week is a cornerstone of the UWC experience — a time when students leave the classroom and engage directly with the world. Centred on action, reflection and collaboration, these student-led projects are shaped around service, sustainability and intercultural understanding. Each year, groups of students plan and carry out projects across Italy and Europe, often working with alumni and local organisations.
This year’s initiatives included helping people with disabilities enjoy winter sports through Montagne di Inclusione, 25 projects promoting sustainable fashion with Progetto Abito in Turin, exploring regenerative agriculture and supporting families of long-stay pediatric patients at Casa Ronald McDonald in Florence. Other students led educational outreach in schools in Italy or taught sex education and biodiversity in local communities.
Twenty-five projects were carried out in 2025, each a testament to the UWC belief that young people, when empowered, can turn values into action and create meaningful change, one experience at a time.
