The UWC Adriatic community was deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Dr Roberto Daneluzzo, who had served as the College’s occupational physician since January 2026.
An experienced and highly respected professional, Dr Daneluzzo worked with numerous organisations across Friuli Venezia Giulia and the nearby Veneto throughout his career, placing his expertise at the service of local institutions, companies and communities.
Although his relationship with UWC Adriatic had only recently begun, colleagues at the College’s Medical Centre had already come to appreciate his professionalism, courtesy and reliability.
Only last Friday, Dr Daneluzzo had been in Duino, working with the Medical Centre team to begin planning the programme of staff medical examinations for the new 2026–27 academic year.
“We were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr Roberto Daneluzzo,” said UWC Adriatic Rettore Marco Gemelli. “Although he had only begun working with us a few months ago, he had already earned the respect of members of our community through his expertise, helpfulness and the great integrity that characterised his work. His sudden passing has deeply affected and saddened us. On behalf of the entire College community, I would like to express our heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences to his wife, Majda Gabrovec, and to all his loved ones.”
