Service Learning at UWC Adriatic

“Learning to serve” is a guiding principle at UWC Adriatic, deeply embedded in its ethos since the college’s founding. The college’s location in a small, bilingual village nestled in an area that witnessed two world wars and great political tensions in the Twentieth century,  encourages meaningful collaboration with the local community, building strong ties that have lasted for over four decades. Service is a core value, reflected in the weekly engagement of both students and staff with the local community and their commitment to making positive contributions. Service at UWC Adriatic takes many forms, with all students actively participating in Service Learning Projects, both locally and beyond.

Through these service learning experiences, UWC Adriatic students learn empathy, resilience, teamwork, and the importance of consistency in driving lasting positive change. These experiences enrich their personal growth and help them see being of service as a path toward understanding both the world and themselves.
