Mondo 2000 ODV is a volunteering association founded in 1999 as a result of an initiative by UWC Adriatic students who wished to strengthen ties with the local community and step up their impact. It is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote volunteering, enhancing its potential for bringing about social change.
This is done both by organising extra-curricular community service activities and by implementing projects in collaboration with other organisations – both at local and national levels. Furthermore, thanks to long standing relations with the regional public high school system, Mondo 2000 organises meetings and workshops involving College students and high school students in the region in order to facilitate cultural exchange among peers and to share volunteering best practices.These meetings are excellent opportunities for students’ personal development and effectively convey what the UWC Adriatic experience is all about and what makes it so special.
Mondo 2000 was established on 5 May 1999, pursuant to the Civil Code and Law 266/91, Legislative Decree 460/97 and Regional Law 12/95. Since5 August 2022, following the entry into force of Legislative Decree 117/2017 (hereinafter referred to as the “Third Sector Code”) and subsequent amendments, this association has taken the following name: “Mondo 2000 ODV”. It has been registered in the RUNTS, in the section on “Volunteering Organisations” on 05/08/2022.
