Each campaign is designed to expand access to education, support students facing complex circumstances, and strengthen the impact of our community locally and globally. By contributing to a specific campaign, you take part in a shared effort to build opportunity and enable young people to grow into thoughtful, engaged leaders.

Italian Campaign

This campaign ensures that as many Italian candidates as possible are able to attend one of the 18 UWC Colleges worldwide.

Giulio Regeni Scholarship Giulio Regeni (UWC USA 2005–2007) exemplified the values at the heart of the United World Colleges. Since 2017 UWC Adriatic provides a scholarship to honour his memory.

Refugee Initiative

In collaboration with UNHCR, UWC offers scholarships to 100 young refugees and displaced students.

Scholarships for Students from Gaza This campaign provides full scholarships to students from Gaza at a time when many young Palestinians have no access to education.
Afghan Youth Scholarship This initiative provides full scholarships to Afghan students at a time when access to education for young people is in crisis.
Peace for Eastern Europe Since its founding, UWC Adriatic has offered scholarships to students from conflict-affected areas. This campaign provides full scholarships to students from Belarus, Russia and Ukraine at this critical moment.

Established in September 2023, the UWC Adriatic Endowment Fund provides long-term financial support for the College’s mission and its scholarships. Donations to this fund are not used immediately to cover costs — they are invested in perpetuity.

The UWC Stock Weinberg – Edward Sutcliffe Foundation

Established in 2015, the UWC Stock Weinberg – Edward Sutcliffe Foundation is a charitable foundation registered in Italy to support UWC Adriatic and the UWC movement’s mission. The Sutcliffe family were instrumental in the creation of the Foundation, together with Liliana Stock Weinberg, and since then they have been joined by other Founders and supporters.

DONATE YOUR TIME & TALENT

Three ways to support UWC Adriatic through the gift of volunteering.

  1. BE A HOST. Open your home to UWC Adriatic students who cannot return home during school breaks or who need accommodation during Project Weeks (early in March).
  2. “ADOPT” A STUDENT. If you live in Friuli Venezia Giulia and would like to share some of your free time with a UWC Adriatic student, join the Adottami project – this is the perfect way! Our students love getting to know the local community and Italian culture — and it’s a great opportunity for them to practise their Italian. For you, it’s a chance to discover another culture and even build lasting friendships.
  3. GIVE A TALK OR WORKSHOP. Our students and staff are eager to learn! Do you have an expertise, experience or skill that would be useful to share with the UWC Adriatic Community of educators and students? You can join the Orizzonti programme and give a talk at the College, or volunteer to support staff training.
