The Conference Human Rights and Duties in the 3rd Millennium, will be held online on 17 May 2021 at 3 p.m. This event is being held on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the ceremony for an honorary degree to the Nobel Laureate Rita Levi-Montalcini. During her lectio magistralis Rita Levi Montalcini strongly supported the need for a Declaration of Human Duties, an ethical code to highlight our responsibility as human beings to preserve human dignity, protect the environment and maintain peace. Her appeal was supported by the University of Trieste and in 1993 The Trieste Declaration of Human Duties was proclaimed.
The conference Human Rights and Duties in the 3rd Millennium is organized by ICHD (International Council of Human Duties) with the University of Trieste, in collaboration with UWC Adriatic and with the support of the Fondazione CRTrieste. This event aims to raise awareness about human rights in the third millennium and the duties we all have with respect to the sacredness of life on our planet.
